Selling Your Home - Special Circumstances
Selling Your Home - Special Circumstances
Sometimes it becomes necessary to sell our home even if it’s not what we would prefer to do.
Buying a home is arguably the biggest financial transaction you will ever make in your life. The
excitement of a new home breeds creativity for designing it and leaves a ton of space to make
new memories. Rarely is someone already thinking ahead to the time when they will sell it.
However, special circumstances sometimes force our homes on the market. Here are a few of
those special circumstances that could lead you to sell:
● Debt - Have you found yourself in unmanageable debt? Is your house draining your
funds and becoming a source of financial stress? Outside factors such as medical bills
or the economy can force even the most money-savvy people into unexpected debt.
Accruing debt also becomes a vicious cycle and can get out of control very fast. It may
become necessary to consider putting your home on the market if selling your home
could significantly help you pay off your debt. This may also be necessary in order to
prevent you from going further into debt. Downsizing to a smaller home or renting for
awhile may be the most viable option.
● Fresh Start - We all need to hit the reset button from time-to-time. However, a vacation
away for a few days doesn’t always do the trick. Divorce and other unfortunate situations
can make it necessary for us to relocate and really reset and readjust. Do you need to
start over? Is the location of your current home no longer where you want to be? If you
need a fresh start in new surroundings, selling your home could do the trick.
● New Change - Life is full of change and that is part of the fun! New and exciting
opportunities present themselves to us every single day. Owning a home is a
commitment and - just like any commitment - there comes a time when it is necessary to
reassess it. Has your lifestyle or financial standing changed dramatically? Are you now
in a higher (or lower) pay scale? Do you need to relocate for a new job or other
circumstance? Change is good and when it comes to your home - selling your home
may be very good for you!
